Lively Collaboration Mixes Dance and Music… Baroque music has been described as expressing order, but always lively and tuneful. The musical period, roughly from 1600 to 1750, includes notable composers like Bach and Vivaldi. Many of the works from the era are dance music, or inspired by the court dances of the time. Elizabeth Suh Lane (Bach Aria Soloists’ artistic director and violinist) was featured on Comcast’s Newsmakers program. Mike Shanin (host of KCPT-TV’s Ruckus program and news anchor and host at KMBZ-AM) conducted the four and a half minute interview which aired during the last five minutes of each hour on CNN Headline News from September 15 through October 14. 2007. The program reached 100,000 Comcast subscribers in Kansas and Missouri.
