BACH & LOVE

BACH & LOVE with BACH SCHOLAR DR. MARKUS RATHY
7:30 p.m., Saturday, November 4
Kansas City Public Library (Central Branch)
Free concert!

When J.S. Bach wrote about love in his choral works, he wrote about theological love, but it is easily transferable to the soulful love we all experience. Renowned Bach scholar Dr. Markus Rathey, professor at the Yale School of Music and Yale Institute of Sacred Music, will explain how Bach’s music and the passion it evokes are transcendent and universal.

Hannah Collins, visiting assistant professor of cello at the University of Kansas, makes her debut with the ensemble. This is the second of this season’s free concerts and continues Bach Aria Soloists’ longtime partnership with the Kansas City Public Library.

Program Highlights: Vocal and instrumental masterworks by J.S. Bach with commentary by Dr. Markus Rathey.

Registration is required for this free concert (if you purchase a Community Concerts Subscription, we will automatically register you for this concert).
