Bach: Always Something to Celebrate!

Bach Aria Soloists just completed their 20th Anniversary season opener with a Sold Out “Beer, Bach, and Bites” performance at the Boulevard Brewery. More of a celebration than a concert, the evening was a homecoming of old friends, former BAS members performing old favorites, a 20th Anniversary Birthday video, great beer, delicious bites, and of course a birthday cake!

Bach enthusiasts know his music to be a companion for all times and his mastery of harmonies deeply inspirational. Bach is heard on every instrument these days with contemporary musicians interweaving his melodies and harmonies into their songs in ways that defy description. The appeal is both intellectual as well as emotional and his most famous melodies stick in your brain like the iconic G major Prelude to his Six Cello Suites or his Toccata and Fugue in D Minor or Air in G.

Bach Aria Soloists’  second concert of the year has already sold out, but there are three more Bach Aria Soloists performances this season with tickets available. Our Holiday Concert on December 14th, is an evening of beautiful, seasonal music that includes joyous works by Bach, Mozart, Vivaldi, Handel, plus traditional carols.

Our February 22nd Bach Extravaganza pays homage to our namesake with an all-Bach playlist welcoming back the world’s pre-eminent scholar of Bach, Dr. Christoph Wolff.

Finally, on April 18th, we are bringing famed trumpeter Rodney Marsalis from the legendary Marsalis family to KC for a special Kansas City collaboration made for our BAS community!
