Kansas City Chorale Collaboration Closes Season

BAS’s 2017-18 season concludes June 16 with the wondrous Kansas City Chorale.

The concert will highlight 15 members of the Kansas City Chorale, featuring several soloists, including Bach Aria Soloists’ soprano Sarah Tannehill Anderson and Lindsey Lang. The instrumentalist line-up includes BAS Artistic Director-Founder-violinist Elizabeth Suh Lane and organist Elisa Williams Bickers, with Michael Mermagen, cello; Destiny Mermagen, violin; and Ashley Stanfield, viola.

“We are thrilled to collaborate with the Kansas City Chorale and artistic director Charles Bruffy,” says Elizabeth Suh Lane,. “They are a true treasure in Kansas City and I am sure that our audiences will love this musical partnership and the beautiful selections.

The program will include instrumental and choral works by Vaughan Williams, Benjamin Britten, J.S. Bach and the Norwegian-born, contemporary choral composer Ola Gjeilo.

Bach Aria Soloists has partnered with the Kansas City Chorale several times during its 18-year history, most recently during the 2016-17 season with BAS Sings!, which featured four members of the Chorale.
